Lluís Parcerisa is a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He holds a degree in Sociology (2013) and a Masters in Social Policy, Labour and Welfare (2014). Since 2013 he is a member of GEPS (Globalisation, Education and Social Policies) where he has participate with a I+D research project (ABJOVES) “The early school leaving in Spain. An analysis of decisions, motivations and educational strategies for young people”. He is also part of the evaluation team of the “Magnet school. Partnerships for educational success” by Jaume Bofill Foundation. In the field of consultancy, he has worked in the local administration in the elaboration of local plans for social inclusion, youth and in the area of social innovation.His doctoral thesis analyzes the transnationalization of new public management in the education field and its recontextualization in public schools in Spain. His main research areas are focused on global education governance and the role of international organizations, the analysis of the privatization of education and its impact on social and educational inequalities, early school leaving, and the study of social movements impact.
