Juana Sorondo

Juana Sorondo is a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellow at the Sociology Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). Her current research focuses on a critical analysis of the emotionalisation of educational discourse, and its relation to both neoliberal policies and critical discourse in education.

She holds a PhD in Education from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain (dec. 2024). Her thesis focused on secondary school policies and social disputes in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. She has a Philosophy undergraduate degree (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina) and a master’s degree in Education (Nacional University of San Martín, Argentina). 

She carried out research stays at the Laboratoire Sophiapol from the Paris-Nanterre University (Paris, France), the History of Education Department of the Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany), and the Centre of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education, Culture and Society of the Nacional University of San Martín (Buenos Aires, Argentina). She collaborated in different research projects in Argentina and Spain, and is currently one of the Editors of the journal Educación, Política y Sociedad.
