Lara Pérez is a PhD researcher and Assistant Lecturer of Education Policy at the Sociology Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Her research project explores innovative financing mechanisms for education, specifically outcome-based approaches in sub-Saharan countries.
She holds a MSc degree in Comparative Education and International Development (2021) from the University of Edinburgh (UK) and a double BA Degree in Educational Studies; in Primary Education (2016) from the Ramon Llull University and in Early Childhood Education (2018) from the International University of La Rioja. Her interests mainly focus on education financing, public-private partnerships, international development cooperation, global governance and power dynamics.
She has a background working in global networks, public schools, civil society organisations and NGOs in different international contexts. Since 2021, she has collaborated with the Public Education and Human Rights Coalition (PEHRC), where she has assisted with the coordination of the academic network and participated in research projects on the advocacy of the right to education in Latin America.
