Laura Mentini is a PhD student and “La Caixa” research fellow at the Sociology department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Her research project is developed in the context of the ERC project REFORMED: Reforming Schools Globally: A Multi-Scalar Analysis of Autonomy and Accountability Policies in the Education Sector, and deals with the re-contextualization and analysis of standardization and innovation education policies in Italy. Before undertaking her PhD journey, she obtained an Erasmus Mundus Master degree – GLOBED, Education Policies for Global Development, and worked as a trainee in the European Commission (Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture), supporting the strategies and coordination of Erasmus+ international programmes. She has a background in Political Science and International relations, previously worked as a consultant in the UN FAO agency (Rome) and collaborated with several NGOs and bottom-up participatory projects in developing contexts.
