Marc Jodar-domínguez

Marc Jodar-Domínguez is a PhD researcher in the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, supervised by Professor Xavier Bonal. His doctoral project examines the key factors underlying the disadvantages faced by immigrant students in Western educational systems, with a particular focus on the dynamics of school segregation. The thesis takes a policy-oriented approach, aiming to generate actionable insights for educational stakeholders.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Administration from Pompeu Fabra University (2023) and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the Instituto Carlos III–Juan March. During his master’s studies, he was awarded a full scholarship, which included a research assistantship in the Department of Social Sciences at UC3M.

Previously, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Self-Government of the Catalan Government and at Yale University. He has also been involved in several educational non-profit initiatives in Barcelona. His research interests include educational inequalities, education policy, the political economy of education, immigrant student performance, and metropolitan social policy.
