Marcel Pagès

Marcel Pagès is a Ramón y Cajal researcher in the Department of Theory and History of Education at the University of Barcelona (UB). He is a member of the Pedagogical and Social Thought Research Group (GREPPS) and the Globalization, Education and Social Policy (GEPS) research center. 

He earned his PhD in Sociology from the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Over the course of his career, Marcel has contributed to several research projects, including the REFORMED Project, GENTRED, and DESEGPOL, funded by prestigious institutions such as the European Research Council, the Spanish Ministry of Science, and the Barcelona City Council. 

Previously, he was awarded the Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Girona (UdG), where he taught courses on Comparative Education and Sociology of Education. 

Marcel’s research focuses on education reform processes, school governance, and educational inequalities, using the analytical frameworks of policy sociology, comparative education, and sociology of education.
