Marta Curran is Doctor in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2017). Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellowship (Juan de la Cierva) at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since 2011 she is a member of GEPS (Globalization, Education and Social Policies) where she has participate in several competitive international and national research projects. Her research areas of interest include education inequalities, Early School Leaving, educational transitions, and the internationalization of education. Currently she is involved in two main projects: “Edupost16. The construction of post-16 educational opportunities. An analysis of post-compulsory educational transitions in urban settings” and a project on the implementation of the International Baccalaureate in the Spanish context. She has also worked as a consultant for various organizations such as Fundació Jaume Bofill, Save the Children, and several local municipalities in research projects focused on Early School Leaving and school-work transitions.
