Veda Krüger Ruiz is a PhD researcher at the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), awarded with a “La Caixa” Doctoral INPhINIT Fellowship. Her thesis explores the relationship between student wellbeing, (dis)engagement with learning and social inequalities within secondary education in Spain.
She studied her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology (2016) at the University of St Andrews, and holds a Master’s in Education Policies for Global Development (2023) at the UAB and the University of Glasgow, with an Erasmus+ Excellence Scholarship. She has worked for over seven years as an education project specialist with local and international NGOs across Spain, United Kingdom, France, United States, and Colombia. Her research focus includes student/teacher wellbeing, school care practices, educational and social inequalities, youth participation, and feminism in education.
