Xènia Gavaldà Elias is a PhD candidate in Global Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), in the framework of an industrial doctorate with the Catalan Agency for Cooperation and Development (ACCD). Her doctoral research, Rethinking Global Education, critically examines the conceptual foundations of Global Education and analyzes intervention models in Catalonia, Europe, and selected Global South contexts, with a focus on feminist, intersectional, and decolonial approaches.
She holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Education Policies for Global Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy from UAB. Her research interests include global justice, education policy, gender and sexuality education, and the role of civil society in transformative education.
